Westlands Water District is seeking an accomplished and politically astute executive to serve as the Deputy General Manager – Government & Public Affairs. Reporting to the General Manager, this position will provide strategic leadership for the District’s government affairs, legislative advocacy, public affairs, communications, stakeholder engagement, and external relations program. The successful candidate will serve as a principal advisor to executive leadership and represent the District before policymakers, regulatory agencies, industry organizations, stakeholders, and the media. The position may be headquartered in either the District's Fresno or Sacramento Office. Qualifications Licensed Architect with 15 to 25 years of experience. Demonstrated experience executing interdisciplinary projects in the retail market, including, but not limited to, ground-up retail centers, renovation/reposition of existing centers, and tenant improvement work. Established reputation in the real estate industry related to retail projects, including strong relationships with developers, brokers, contractors, and other partners in Oregon, Washington, and/or California. Strong business development skills and willingness to cross-sell across disciplines and markets. Possess a high level of emotional intelligence. Strong communication and listening skills.
