The Code Enforcement Officer Level I/II conducts field investigations to ensure compliance with and enforcement of State and local codes pertaining to nuisance abatement, blight control, substandard housing, zoning, abandoned vehicles, overgrown vegetation, vector infestations, and other hazardous conditions. Performs related research, notifies violators, prepares and maintains case files, and represents the County at hearings. Code Enforcement Officer is a single class with two salary levels. Positions in this class are flexibly staffed, and the level at which appointments are made are at the discretion of the appointing authority.
Minimum Qualifications Either: 1. Successful completion of 30 semester (45 quarter) units from an accredited college or university with a minimum of nine semester (13 quarter) units in criminal justice; law enforcement; public/business administration, construction; planning; or other closely related field.
