Job Description And Duties
Under the direction of the Executive Director and as an advisor to the CPUC President and Commissioners, the Deputy Executive Director for Strategic Communications and External Affairs manages the Director, News & Outreach Office and the Public Advisor, and leads the development, planning and execution of strategic communications and engagement to achieve the Commission’s policy goals. The incumbent is responsible for strategizing and executing communications and engagement that build and enhance CPUC’s public presence, with emphasis on media, accessibility of Commission meetings and events, and relationships with local government, community-based organizations, diverse suppliers, and small businesses. The position reports to the Executive Director, and works with the Commissioners, the Governor’s office, the Legislature, external stakeholders, and senior management within the CPUC.
