Under general direction provided by a Supervising Program Technician (SPT) III, the Supervising Program Technician (SPT) II is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and overseeing the technical program activities of the Warrant Distribution unit and Claims Processing Unit. The Warrant Distribution Unit is responsible for releasing time-sensitive “over the counter” warrants such as investments, apportionments, as well as payments to SCO’s EFT vendor and state payroll and others. The unit sorts and distributes in-coming mail and provides courier services throughout the State Controller’s Office. The Claims Processing Unit is responsible for preparing and issuing rush warrants; provides final processing for “paper claims” (non-automated claims); critical and time-sensitive payments such as investments.
