Architecture - Project Manager—Healthcare

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Project Managers to join our Sacramento office, bringing expertise across Advanced Technology, Industrial, Healthcare, Retail, and Commercial/Workplace sectors. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping our presence in the region.


We are especially interested in candidates with professional connections and experience in the Sacramento, CA area or have a strong ability to integrate themselves into the design, construction, and development community of the region.


Individuals in this role will prepare and respond to request for proposals (RFPs); participate in interviews as required; develop and maintain client relationships; lead projects, striving to integrate design and develop projects from conceptual planning to coordination of project efforts and through to approvals of design and construction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate assembly of proposals including coordination with consultants.
  • Prepare and review client and consultant contracts.
  • Lead pursuit efforts at the project level – RFP responses, scope and fee estimates, interviews.
  • Manage and review billing for projects and review invoices to clients and consultants.
  • Forecast billings for revenue projections per project.
  • Provide regular communication and coordination with project team, discipline leads, and project Principal.
  • Develop and manage project design schedules and scope of service.
  • Serve as a reliable point of contact with clients and consultants.
  • Coordinate design processes and facilitate meetings.

Qualifications:

  • 10 to 20 years of architectural experience; specific or various project types. 5-10 years of total experience, specifically in healthcare.
  • Architectural license is preferred.
  • Proven experience with OSHPD/HCAi projects and permitting processes
  • Solid understanding of healthcare codes, regulations, and coordination requirements.
  • High level of productivity with strong attention to detail.
  • Self-starter
  • Strong communication skills across multidisciplinary teams, with an emphasis on delivering quality design for our clients.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project and Bluebeam required.
  • Experience working in and managing Revit and BIM workflows, InDesign and Deltek Vantagepoint are a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently on projects through design development, construction documents, and contract administration phases.
  • Experience with advanced tech, fast-track, or engineering-led projects is a plus.

Salary Range: $115k to $140k commensurate with experience

At Mackenzie, we work a hybrid office schedule; all staff work in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with an option to work from home on Mondays and Fridays.
