Under the general direction of the Division Chief and Assistant Division Chief of the Unclaimed Property Division, the incumbent is responsible for managing, planning, directing, and controlling the activities of the Accounting Bureau. The Bureau Chief is responsible for developing processes to ensure Digital Financial Assets (DFA) and securities are received and accounted for, DFA and security claims are valued and paid accurately and timely, and program revenues and disbursements are accounted for in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and established policies and procedures. The Financial Audits Bureau performs different financial and compliance audits and have oversight responsibilities for programs such as K-12 Education, First 5, Women Infant and Children (WIC), Single Audits of Local Governments, and the Transportation Development Act. The Bureau is responsible for the development of the Guide for Annual Audits of K-12 Local Education Agencies and conducting performance audits of trial courts in California to determine compliance with governing statutes, rules, and regulations.   Under general direction provided by the Audit Manager (Senior Management Auditor), the Staff Management Auditor (Specialist) will perform at the advanced journey level in leading, working with a group of audit teams, or performing complex, difficult, and sensitive engagements (audits, attestations, and/or reviews) in an independent and proficient manner.
