**Job Summary**
**AECOM** is seeking a Senior Environmental Planner for immediate full-time permanent employment in our dynamic Northern California environmental planning practice. This position is a technical lead role responsible for development and execution of water-focused multi-disciplinary projects in collaboration with other senior planners and engineering leads from our Water business line.
This is a regular, full-time, salaried position that will report to the Northern California Planning Manager. The Senior Planner would be responsible for client engagement, proactive business development, the preparation of competitive proposals, and leading all aspects of project implementation. This position would focus on multidisciplinary, water-related projects that include water storage and conveyance, wetland restoration and flood protection. Successful marketing experience and a collaborative, team focus are required.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
+ Leading the development and implementation of CEQA/NEPA projects
+ Developing and managing positive relationships with clients
+ Applying innovative solutions and problem solving to meet client objectives.
+ Leading teams of professionals to complete complex environmental projects and technical studies
+ Overseeing the preparation of work plans, organizes project studies, and preparation of reports for large, complex projects
+ Reviewing contracts for understanding of scope, fee, schedule, and deliverables, and all other contractual obligations
+ Developing schedules for management of work to be performed consistent with our contracts and defined scope of work
+ Monitoring and analyzing project costs, commitments, accruals, and changes, and taking corrective action where necessary
+ Knowledge of state and federal environmental regulatory framework, including the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
+ Working independently and as part of a team
+ Assessing the quality and soundness of planning deliverables
+ Supporting career development of individuals in the practice
+ Successfully preparing competitive proposals
+ Contributing to growth of practice through business development

**Minimum Requirements**
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Planning, Geography, or similar related field.
+ 10+ years' experience including 2 years of leadership.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Master’s Degree in Environmental Science, Planning, Geography, or similar relate
+ Proven project management and client management skills.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Experienced “seller-doer” with existing relationships with public agencies in Northern California.
+ Ability to coordinate and manage large-scale environmental projects and applying environmental regulations.
+ Technical expertise in CEQA/NEPA
+ Strong writing and analytical skills and experience preparing scopes of work, budgets, proposals, and schedules.
+ The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
+ Ability to speak effectively in public.
+ Candidate must have a proven sales record.
