**Job Summary** AECOM is seeking a highly motivated Geotechnical Engineer based in our Sacramento, CA office to provide civil engineering and design services for large water infrastructure projects. This position will involve working with a multidisciplinary team of civil engineers, geotechnical engineers, environmental engineers, geologists and environmental scientists to plan, design, and construct large water infrastructure projects. **At AECOM, we’re delivering a better world.** We believe infrastructure creates opportunity for everyone. Our private sector work includes assignments for multiple commercial/industrial sectors, including oil and gas, chemicals, power, food and beverage, manufacturing and pharmaceuticals. https://aecom.com/markets/water/ Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: * Oversee subsurface investigations including, test pits, drilling exploration boreholes and advancing CPTs at various sites throughout Pacific Northwest * Review and assign geotechnical samples for laboratory testing * Inspect/oversee construction activities to monitor progress and assess conformance to engineering plans, specifications and construction standards * Perform geotechnical analyses including slope stability, seepage, settlement, earth retention, liquefaction, and shallow and deep foundations * Preparation of geotechnical engineering reports and recommendations * Review regulations and standards necessary to conduct technical studies and carry out project design and permitting work * Prepare and/or peer review designs, specifications, and construction documents * Work with designers and drafting staff to develop conceptual and as-built drawings * Assemble and document geotechnical data using software that includes: Excel, Word, gINT, AutoCAD * Apply QA/QC requirements to your own work and work of the project team * Clearly communicate with staff and with clients **Minimum Requirements** BA/BS and 2+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education **Preferred Qualifications** + Engineer in Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE). + Experience in the planning, design, and construction of water resources projects including pump stations, dams, levees, flood control facilities, pipelines, cutoff walls, and earthmoving projects. + Experience with AutoCAD and/or Civil3D + Familiarity with geotechnical analysis software, such as SEEP/W, SLOPE/W, L-Pile **What We Offer** We will give you the flexibility you need to do your best work with hybrid work options.
