The position is a full-time, salaried position that would report to the Sacramento manager of the Natural and Cultural Resources group. The successful candidate would be a core member of the AECOM cultural resources practice and would work closely with AECOM’s team of cultural resource specialists in northern and southern California, as well as the Pacific Northwest. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Coordinating and implementing technical work, conducting technical reviews, and expanding our cultural resource team in Sacramento. Business development, including prospective client outreach, participation in interviews, and scope and budget development, will be an important part of this position.CRM technical work would include collection and compilation of cultural resources data in support of CEQA and NEPA, Section 106, and Caltrans local assistance projects.Work closely with Project Managers, staff, agencies, and clients to accomplish project objectives. Successfully manage cultural resources tasks on larger projects.Supervise cultural resource staff and project teams in the field, office, and laboratory, as needed.Complete cultural resource assignments with strong attention to detail.Coordinate with Federal and State agencies on project issues related to cultural resources. Perform technical data analysis and reporting for various CEQA, NEPA and project permitting documents. Assist with business development and proposal efforts.Obtain permits from federal land management agencies and state agencies to access their confidential records and utilize them in report writing.Work with tribes and support federal and State agency tribal consultations. Effectively manage schedules and budgets for several simultaneous assignments. Work on interdisciplinary teams of subject matter experts and planners.Complete project management training to become a certified AECOM project manager. Some travel may be required. We help clients reduce their impact on the environment, achieve compliance and reduce risks. **Qualifications** MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: + BA/BS in Anthropology, Archaeology, or related field plus 6 years of experience in historic and/or prehistoric archaeology and cultural resources management or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. + A valid U.S. Driver's license is required for this role. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: + Ten (10) years of experience in historic and/or prehistoric archaeology and cultural resources management.Meets the Secretary of Interior’s professional qualification standards in Archaeology. + Demonstrated knowledge of state and federal environmental regulatory framework for cultural resources, including the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), National Historic Preservation Act, and California cultural resources rules and regulations.Strong technical writing skills. + Experience managing cultural resources management projects, including budgets, scheduling, and scopes of work.Experience with tribal consultation.Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues, agencies, and clients.Proficiency in the use of GPS receivers and associated devices (e.g. tablets) for GPS data collection. + A strong technical background with relevant field experience in northern California anthropology and archaeology.Advanced knowledge in one or more specialty scientific areas (e.g., architectural history, lithic or faunal analysis; osteology; or historical archaeology). + Three (3) years of experience in a supervisory capacity in the field or in the office.Experience managing or mentoring entry level staff.Experience supervising large crews and/or multiple crews on a variety of project types and sizes, regions, and agencies. **Additional Information** Relocation is not available for this position. + Offered rate of compensation (CA) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
