The incumbent is responsible for the transportation and handling of Prison Industry Authority (PIA) goods and materials to appointed destinations throughout California, following Department of Transportation (DOT) and California Vehicle Codes rules and regulations. Employees will have regular and substantial contact with persons incarcerated in California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation institutions and/or medical facilities.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 0400-1200

  • Driving experience.
  • Experience loading and unloading goods and equipment into trailers.
  • Customer service experience: Communicating with internal and external customers.
  • Experience working with refrigerated trailers; monitoring temperatures.
  • Work experience: Law enforcement, military service, state service.
