The Program Technician is expected to exercise a high degree of initiative and independence in assuming the responsibility for optical clerical functions. In addition, the incumbent has regular, direct responsibility for work supervision, on-the-job, and work performance evaluation of at least two incarcerated individuals who substantially replace civil service employees for a total of at least 120 hours per pay period.

Steps to Apply -
Minimum Qualifications - Experience: One year of clerical experience and Either equivalent to completion of the 12th grade.
Desirable Qualifications are not required but are listed to demonstrate what experience/education would make the selected candidate most successful in this position. If you have this education/experience, you are encouraged to include this information in your application.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Previous experience with Medi-Cal billing, determining Medi-Cal eligibility or optometry office helpful and desirable.
· Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.
· Good attendance, punctuality, and attention to detail are a must.
· Customer service experience.
· Data Entry (verifying information and accuracy)
· Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other database systems
· Experience working with incarcerated individuals.
