Under general direction, develops job opportunities and employment resource materials and information for welfare-to-work program staff and participants; oversees and coordinates activities of groups of welfare-to-work clients assigned to a work experience component; and serves as liaison, consultant and resource for the sponsoring employment organizations.
Minimum Qualifications
Either: A bachelor's degree in vocational counseling, social work, sociology, psychology, business administration, marketing, public relations or a closely related field
Two years of vocational counseling, or career counseling, or job coaching and rehabilitation job solicitation which must include placement experience interviewing for employment of a broad range of occupations.
Or: Completion of 12 units of upper division course work leading to a major in vocational counseling, social work, sociology, psychology, business administration, marketing, public relations or a closely related field.
Three years of experience in the Sacramento County class of Human Services Specialist (Level II) with one year experience directly providing job search assistance, job coaching, or placement assistance or one year of experience in the Sacramento County class of Human Services Social Worker directly providing job search assistance, job coaching, or placement assistance.
