Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Financial Controller will lead the development and standardization of California Correctional Training and Rehabilitation Authority’s (CALCTRA) standards, program, and business processes for fiscal planning. This position has oversight for the Accounting Services and Inventory Management Section. Responsible for making high level decisions and formulating, recommending, and implementing major departmental policies and strategies to the CFO and the executive team on all areas related to CALCTRA's fiscal related initiatives. Directly supervises the Accounting Administrator III.

Desirable Qualifications:
In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
•Experience leading and providing direction of a fiscal division or team.
•Experience establishing a culture of compliance and continuous improvement within a fiscal team while adapting to changing accounting standards, regulatory compliance, and agency business needs.
•Experience providing expert advice and guidance to executive management, department staff, external customers, and control agencies on Fiscal related matters.
•Experience identifying significant compliance, control, or procedural deficiencies within an area of responsibility.
•Experience with financial accounting, cost accounting, and/or government accounting.
