Join us and let’s get started. AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated **Resident Engineer / Construction Manager** for employment in the **Sacramento** area on bridge projects. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: + Responsible for contract management, administration and coordination on projects of various sizes and types. + Responsible for interpreting, organizing, executing and coordinating construction engineering documents. + Responsible for monitoring assigned staff to determine that the contractor's activities are monitored and controlled in accordance with project plans, specifications and contractual requirements. + Liaison between Client, Project Staff and Contractor in resolution of project issues. + Change management and cost estimating. + Review and evaluate claims for changed conditions. + Analyze and determine resolutions for complex construction/design problems. + Represent projects/clients at meetings and conferences. + The Resident Engineer/Construction Manager will take an active role in identifying business development opportunities and helping AECOM position for and win work. + Review and respond to Contractor's correspondence as required. + Implement on site procedures to assist staff in performing their work. + Keep client informed regarding project issues and provide possible resolutions. + Read and interpret plans, specifications and special provisions. + Monitor contractor progress and compare with approved Progress Schedule. + Review and evaluate Progress Schedules. + Mentor and train staff. + Administer and manage contract and budget. + Coordinate with other agencies as needed. + Work in all weather conditions and on nights and weekends. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: + BA/BS Degree plus 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education + California licensed Civil Engineer PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: + Proven client and project relationship management + Familiarity with project contract fundamentals and accounting principles + Strong problem-solving, organizational, people, math, and accounting skills + Proficient in Microsoft applications + 10 – 15 years of experience with transportation and construction engineering projects: roadways, bridges + Experience with bridge projects constructed to Caltrans specifications + Previous experience with large bridge replacement projects + Scheduling using MS Project and P6 desirable All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines. **Here, you will have freedom to grow in a world of opportunity.** We will give you the flexibility you need to do your best work.
