**Job Description**
**AECOM** has a position opening for a **Lead Electrical Engineer** to support our growing Energy Business Line. For this role, AECOM offers the freedom and flexibility to work remotely and/or be located at a variety of Energy offices located in multiple locations across the United States. This is an excellent career opportunity for an engineering with a strong technical and client facing background.
Our team provides a wide range of electrical engineering services across markets sectors including transmission (substations, OH/UG transmission systems, generator interconnections, interconnection strategy), power distribution (OH/UG power systems, substations, EV charging networks, microgrid design, etc.), renewables (Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage Systems, Wind), and next generation energy (hydrogen, fuel cells, electrolyzers, etc.). As an engineering lead, we are looking for a strong candidate with a power engineering background to promote our skills to new clients and maintain our existing client base.
Qualified candidates will have a strong background in electrical power engineering coupled with leadership experience.
The successful candidate is expected to be a detail orientated, experienced engineer who can make decisions independently. Along with your technical excellence, you will also be expected to provide leadership for the other electrical engineers in our Power group. **The focus of the experience must be in the power industry associated with electrical engineering and design of HV and MV substations, HV transmission systems, and MV distribution systems.**
**The responsibilities of this role also include, but may not be limited to, the following:**
+ Responsible for the electrical engineering design work on assigned projects
+ Provide leadership for the other electrical engineers in our Power team
+ Working with Project Engineers and Project Managers on developing workload forecasts, design schedules and budgets for electrical engineering work activities
+ Functioning as the “Engineer of Record” on projects
+ Performing Power system studies (load flow, short circuit, protective coordination, arc flash analysis)
+ Providing technical support for business development activities such as developing proposals
+ One line and three-line diagrams
+ Conducting arc-flash hazard calculations to determine arc-flash boundaries and required PPE
+ Protective relay and metering one line / three-line diagrams
+ AC/DC schematics
+ Panel Layouts
+ Equipment layouts and sectional views
+ Connection Diagrams
+ Bill of Materials
+ Cable Schedules
+ DC power distribution design
+ Developing construction and equipment specifications
+ Supporting projects during construction, start-up, and commissioning
+ Grounding Analysis and Design
+ Reviewing engineering work performed by peers
+ Attending client meetings
+ Client and site field visits
Level specific responsibilities:
+ Serves as lead engineer / engineer of record on mid- to large size projects and programs
+ Provide senior management with project updates / team development issues as needed
+ Supervisory responsibilities for engineering staff
+ Provides technical expertise for studies and design efforts.
+ Presents complex technical solutions to clients.
+ Performs quality control reviews of work developed by others.
+ Participates in development of technical proposals.
+ Provides estimates for the engineering budget and schedule

**Qualifications**
**Minimum** **Requirements:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
+ A minimum of 8 years of relevant Transmission and Distribution engineering experience.
+ Willingness to travel occasionally
+ Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
+ Able to participate in field walks and create field sketches, take dimensions, climb ladders, etc. as necessary
+ Experience supervising a team of electrical engineers
+ Expert familiarity with industry codes and standards (NEC, NESC, IEEE, PIP etc).
+ Prepared drawings, specifications, and calculations involved in at least two (2) major high voltage substation projects (detailed design)
+ Performed detailed QA/QC engineering deliverable reviews
**Preferred** **Qualifications:**
+ Strong written and verbal skills with an ability to lead engineering tasks
+ 12+ years of relevant Transmission and Distribution engineering experience with at least five (5) years leading power engineering projects.
+ Experience on full EPC, Design/Build projects from start to finish.
+ Plant Startup and Commissioning Field Experience
+ Power systems analysis software experience (SKM, EasyPower, Etap).
+ Renewables experience
+ Functioned as the “Engineer of Record” on at least two (2) projects
+ Experience working in collaborative 3D model environments (e.g. Navisworks

+ Offered rate of compensation (California locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $133,500.43 - $246,975.79 annually exempt.
