Join us and let’s get started. **Job Description** **AECOM** Design + Planning has an immediate opening for a **Mid-level Landscape Designer** with interest in restoration ecology, landscape architecture and environmental design to work in our Sacramento office. We help clients reduce their impact on the environment, achieve compliance and reduce risks. **Qualifications** **Minimum Requirements:** + BA/BS in Landscape Architecture, Environmental Planning, Ecological Restoration, Plant Ecology or a related field. + Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education with an emphasis on native plant landscaping, sustainable landscape architectural design, and ecological restoration. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Motivated to improve the natural environment and interested in sustainable landscaping and ecological restoration. + Strong working knowledge of CA native plants, their identification with scientific and common names, ecology, phenology and growing requirements and preferences. + Familiarity with basic irrigation design concepts, MWELO requirements and WUCOLS. + Capable of working independently while adhering to project budgets and schedules. + Proficient knowledge of AutoCad, and Land F/X to prepare landscape and irrigation progress, permit and construction drawings. + Excellent written communication skills, grammar, writing and report preparation capabilities. + Capable of working on multiple tasks and multiple projects simultaneously. + Proficient knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PDF Exchange or Acrobat. (InDesign or PhotoShop helpful as well). + Some experience preparing construction drawings and specs for landscape, irrigation, restoration and other environmental design projects. + Ability to work with people in a cooperative environment, as an ambassador for the firm and our clients. + Experience with both private and public sector projects is preferred, but not required. **Additional Information** + Offered rate of compensation (California locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
