This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, with a minimum of three (3) days in-office based out of our West Sacramento office and two (2) days working remotely.
Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented human resources professional with strong technical aptitude and a commitment to accountability and confidentiality. As our Human Resources Coordinator, you will support the daily operations of Human Resources administration and coordinate a variety of HR programs and processes.
Under the direction of the Senior Director, Human Resources, you will collaborate with staff at all organizational levels, as well as external partners, to ensure human resource functions are effectively executed in support of CSBA’s strategic objectives and growth. The coordinator communicates openly and clearly, maintains high standards of professionalism, and contributes to a creative, inclusive and results-oriented team culture; performs related duties as assigned.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Coordinates and supports various HR programs including benefits administration, document management, budget, performance management, staff appreciation and events, recruitment and onboarding, talent development, and other areas as assigned.
- Interacts with all organizational levels within and external to CSBA to ensure human resource functions are effectively executed to support strategic objectives and organizational growth.
- Compiles and maintains personnel records and employee data; document HR processes and procedures; process change of status forms; and ensures accurate data management across systems.
- Maintains and updates HRIS records, employee information, and organizational charts; reviews, analyzes, and verifies HRIS data including accruals.
- Assists with administration of all company benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, workers’ compensation, 457 Plan, and other benefit programs; assists with employment verification and benefits claims administration.
- Processes documentation to ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations; assists with processing FMLA and other leaves of absence.
- Prepares recruitment announcements, posts vacancies, and assists with onboarding and exiting employees, including coordinating ticket requests with IT and Facilities, updating databases, and tracking required paperwork.
- Coordinates and promotes staff engagement activities including team building events, achievement celebrations, annual Summer and Winter staff events, monthly Staff Meetings, and other staff activities.
- Assists with coordination of performance management processes and programs.
- Assists with development and maintenance of the HR annual budget; tracks department invoices and submits to Accounting for processing.
- Maintains office supplies, materials and updates office bulletin board notices to comply with local, state, and federal policies and laws.
- Responds to incoming Human Resources inquiries and provides assistance within CSBA policy or refers requests to the appropriate party.
- Seeks continual improvement opportunities for HR processes and procedures.
- Demonstrates respect, honesty, professionalism, and adherence to CSBA values, policies, practices, established work schedules, and timekeeping requirements.
- May be assigned administrative support duties across multiple departments.

- Works occasional overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Infrequent overnight travel to staff off-site functions.
- Limited vacation permitted during peak periods.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Any combination of training and experience equivalent to an associate’s degree or higher with major coursework in human resources, business administration, finance, accounting, or related field with three (3) years of progressive, responsible administrative experience in human resources. Experience planning special programs or events is desirable.
- Maintain confidentiality of highly sensitive personnel and organizational information.
- Knowledge of human resources laws and regulations, practices, terminology, administration principals and business acumen.
- Administrative principles and practices including business letter writing, report formatting and preparation, data collection, information management, recordkeeping principles and procedures, and business mathematics and statistical techniques.
- Competency with computer applications related word processing, database entry and management, spreadsheet applications, and calendaring/scheduling programs.
- Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills.
- Knowledge of the organization and functions of nonprofit organizations, boards, and commissions, and the mission and values of CSBA.
- Knowledge of English usage, grammar, spelling, vocabulary, and punctuation.
- Exceptional customer service techniques for working effectively with the public, vendors, contractors, and staff.
- Business mathematics, statistical analysis and financial data management.
- Interprets and applies organizational policies, procedures and regulations.
- Performs accurate data entry, analysis and reporting.
- Communicates effectively and professionally in writing, in person and by phone.
- Prioritizes multiple tasks and meet deadlines under minimal supervision.

- The office environment is primarily sedentary, in a controlled office environment with moderate noise levels and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances.
- Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods, use office equipment and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, and pull drawers open and closed in the execution of their duties.
- Limited vacation during peak periods.
- Ability to occasionally travel is required for conferences, training, workshops and meetings throughout California, including overnight stays.
- Occasional overtime, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Employee is personally responsible for following health and safety guidelines, instructions and policies.

- Paid Time Off:
- Vacation: Accrues 10 days annually for hourly employees and 15 days annually for salary employees. The rate at which you accrue will increase annually with years of service.
- Floating holidays: 32 hours annually accrue date of hire.
- Separate sick leave accrual: 8 hours accrued monthly.
- Holiday: 10 CSBA recognized holidays annually
- December Office Closure: During the latter part of December each year CSBA closes its office. During this time, employees are paid for 6 days in addition to the December 25 and January 1 holiday.
- Sabbatical Program: Employees with at least seven (7) years of continuous full-time employment in their current period of service are eligible for up to four (4) weeks of paid leave.
