WAREHOUSE WORKER

Job Description

Under the direction of the Supervisor II, the incumbent is responsible for receiving, tracking, storing inventory, assisting with ordering production inventory and supplies and ensuring the materials stored in the warehouse are readily available to those who need it. The incumbent is responsible for monitoring daily usage of warrants, envelopes, computer paper, forms, printer and mailing machine consumables, to ensure adequate supplies are available for the Disbursements Bureau, including compliance with established procedures and guidelines. The Warehouse worker will perform inventory counts of supplies on hand, and relay that information back to management for review.

Duties Performed:

  • Receive, monitor, track, store and coordinate physical inventory flow based on short and long term inventory needs; review new items for inclusion into the inventory; review, and coordinate the deletion of obsolete items.
  • Physically check in, store and distribute supply orders to the disbursement units.
  • Monitor inventory usage; report inventory usage to management team.
  • Point of contact for weekly confidential shred and recycling vendors.
  • Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to move supplies from the receiving area to other locations in the warehouse.
  • Notate problems related to inventory, or storage of inventory to the management team.
  • Utilize personal computer applications to assist with inventory; confer with representatives of other departments, divisions, vendors and others as required by management;
  • Arrange for delivery of items from the DGS warehouse to the C street location and pick up of items to go back to DGS.
  • Stay abreast at all times of Inventory located at the DGS warehouse.
  • Update inventory reports, correspondence and other written material; ensure the integrity of the inventory reporting system;
  • Partner with Inventory Analyst to perform monthly physical counts of inventory and estimate future demands of various supplies. Submit results to the procurement analyst for Disbursements Bureau.
  • Work with print and mail analyst to perform voided warrant destruction.
  • Conduct on demand inventory counts when requested to do so.
  • Ensure the warehouse and loading dock are neat, clean, and free of debris.
  • Respond to inventory and storage requests made by supervisors from the Disbursements units.
  • Responsible for using and maintaining a State vehicle.
  • Pick up supplies from General Services’ Transit Storage when needed. Assist with administrative support as needed.
