As an HR Analyst , you will: 

·         Perform analytical and technical personnel functions related to classification and pay, recruitment, examinations, personnel selection, and employee relations.

·         Perform assigned workload under supervision, conducts research and analysis, and applies applicable civil service laws, rules, and departmental policies to support personnel program activities.

·         Provide consultation to management and staff regarding assigned personnel matters and ensures timely, accurate, and consistent service delivery

Analyst IRequirements: 

  • Four years of work experience performing analytical, technical, clerical, and/or customer service duties. Academic education from an accredited college/university

Analyst II Requirements:

o   Four years of work experience performing analytical, technical, clerical, and/or customer service duties. Academic education from an accredited college/university may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Desirable Qualifications: 

  • Knowledge of, or analytical experience supporting, human resources programs such as personnel transactions, classification and pay, performance management, hiring, recruitment, and examinations and selection.
  • Experience using the Examination and Certification and Online System (ECOS) and/or State Controller’s Office (SCO) system.
  • Broad knowledge of various Human Resources (HR) laws, rules, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to conduct research and analyze data to develop appropriate conclusions in support of recommended solutions and resolutions regarding personnel issues.
  • Experience and ability to provide guidance to and advise departmental management on HR related issues.
  • Team player who demonstrates commitment to the whole team’s success, positive attitude, open-mindedness, flexibility, tact and good judgment.
  • Ability to provide training, guidance, and technical assistance to team members as needed.
  • Ability to multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment, handle rapidly changing priorities, plan, organize, and prioritize workload, track and work on projects and monitor deadlines, and remain highly motivated.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills include clearly and accurately communicating complex information, developing and presenting information to both small and large groups, and developing and preparing written information including correspondence, HR policies, issue memos, and reports.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with all levels of management and staff.
