Placer County Jobs

County government is the anchor in Auburn. Placer County hires through its own JobAps careers site, and in early 2026 it launched Placer Job Network, a free job board that connects local employers with local Candidates.

Health care is the biggest draw in Roseville. Kaiser Permanente Roseville Medical Center and Sutter Roseville Medical Center sit a few minutes apart, and Sutter Roseville is the largest hospital in the county. Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital serves the foothills.

Schools hire year round, and every district posts on EDJOIN. Roseville has Roseville City School District and Roseville Joint Union High School District. Rocklin Unified covers Rocklin, Western Placer Unified covers Lincoln, and Placer Union High School District and Auburn Union cover Auburn. Eureka Union serves Granite Bay, and the Placer County Office of Education is in Rocklin.

Rocklin’s largest employers are Sierra College, Rocklin Unified and the City of Rocklin, with Oracle and Jessup University on the city’s own list. Roseville is the region’s retail center, with the Galleria and the Fountains across the street from each other, and the city owns its electric utility.

Lincoln has Thunder Valley Casino Resort at the Twelve Bridges exit and a city that hires through CalOpps. Granite Bay has no city hall, so its public employers are the school districts and the county.

Sierra College’s main campus is on Sierra College Boulevard in Rocklin, with 23 career technical education programs tied to the local labor market. Placer School for Adults runs under the Placer Union High School District in Auburn.

Interstate 80 is the spine. Roseville sits about 20 miles up I-80 from the capital, and Auburn’s city site puts its trip to Sacramento at about 30 minutes. Highway 65 brings Lincoln down to I-80 at Roseville, and Douglas Boulevard carries Granite Bay traffic west. Leave I-80 for the Capital City Freeway and the Scottish Rite Center is at 6151 H Street in East Sacramento, beside Sacramento State. Without a car, Placer Commuter Express runs weekday buses from Colfax, Auburn, Loomis, Rocklin and Roseville to downtown Sacramento, Roseville Transit runs its own commuter routes, and Capitol Corridor trains stop at Roseville, Rocklin and Auburn.

SacJobs has held in-person career fairs in Sacramento since 2000. There are four general fairs a year, Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall, plus a construction and trades fair and an education fair. All of them take place at the Scottish Rite Center on H Street.

Registration is free for Candidates and open to anyone in Placer County. Bring printed resumes, dress for an interview, and plan to talk with the recruiters rather than collect brochures. Employers who book a table also post their openings on this board, so the recruiter behind a listing may be across the table at the next fair.
