The Business Services Section Chief is responsible for oversight and management of CALCTRA's procurement and contracting statewide program, facilities, and fleet management programs for the Central Office, in addition to other Central Office business services functions.

Desirable Qualifications

Desirable Qualifications are not required but are listed to demonstrate what experience/education would make the selected candidate most successful in this position. If you have this education/experience, you are encouraged to include this information in your application.

  • Experience managing and overseeing state contracting and procurement processes
  • Experience with facilities management, including but not limited to building and grounds maintenance, space planning, mailroom and sustainability
  • Experience managing a fleet and asset management program
  • Policy and Procedure development and implementation experience
  • Experience working with internal and external entities, including control agencies such as DGS and representing the department.
  • Experience in an agency with Department of General Services or Department of Finance delegation
  • Knowledge of CALCTRA and Incarcerated Individual/Institutional program, policies and procedures 
  • Supervisory and leadership experience in a business services environment
  • Ability to organize and establish workload priorities, manage multiple assignments, and work well under pressure.
  • Experience with computer programs such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint
