Engineering Aide (Land Surveying)

Under direct supervision, the Engineering Aide performs simple routine engineering work in the field or in the office; and does other related duties.

The eligible list from this recruitment may be used to fill vacancies for Engineering Aides in various departments. The current vacancy we are recruiting for is with the Department of Community Development, and will perform work associated with land surveying. Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Makes simple mathematical calculations.
• Indexes and files plans, maps and survey notes.
• Answer routing requests for information.
• Searches for survey monuments in support of monument verification.
• Plot information from legal descriptions, plans and other documents to maps.
• Does simple drafting and lettering.
• Uses AutoCAD to produce survey plats and maps.
• Performs administrative tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

There are no formal education or experience requirements.
