 The Sacramento County Office of Education is seeking a talented and dedicated School-Based Mental Health and Wellness Clinician to join our student support services team. The Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) is one of 58 county offices of education in California. SCOE staff work year-round, providing services that complement and supplement those offered by public school districts in Sacramento County. SCOE provides technical assistance, curriculum and instructional support, staff development, financial advice, and oversight to Sacramento County school districts.

Salary and Benefits

Annual salary: $110,456.51 (228.75 days = 210 workdays + 18.75 vacation days). Daily rate: $482.87. Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, life, vision, and TSA options.

Benefit allowance: $1,023.58 per mo. for single health coverage and $1,698.58 for 2-party or $1,898.58 for family coverage (includes medical, dental, life, and vision).

Job Summary

The School-Based Mental Health and Wellness Clinician provides coordination and oversight of school-based mental health and wellness services as a member of a school team within Sacramento County's continuum of care. In this role, you will provide direct mental health and wellness services and case management to students and families, assist in the development and delivery of school-wide mental health and wellness interventions, programs, and trainings, and provide clinical supervision, consultation, and technical assistance to assigned interns, associates, and student trainees. Qualifications

Possession of a valid California Board of Behavioral Sciences Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Clinical Psychologist certification. Experience working with students in need of mental health services in a school setting, and experience working with students who require special education services, is required. Experience developing and delivering professional development is also required.

Preference will be given to candidates licensed in California, or another state, for at least two out of the last five years, with experience providing psychotherapy or supervising psychotherapists during that time.

Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of behavioral change theories and practices, including early intervention positive behavior supports and tiered intervention practices; brief counseling techniques and crisis intervention; behavioral and education-based mental health needs of students, including mental health and substance use disorders; special education programs and the IEP process; mental health and wellness related community and state resources; and health regulations and ethics related to school-based mental health services, including HIPAA and FERPA.

Key abilities include establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with individuals and groups from varied educational and cultural backgrounds; collaborating with system of care partners; conducting assessments, crisis intervention, and counseling; interpreting, applying, and explaining rules, regulations, policies, and procedures; and communicating effectively both orally and in writing.
