Working in Yolo County
UC Davis is the county’s largest employer, and its main campus is in Davis, 15 miles west of Sacramento. University jobs post through UC Davis Human Resources. The County of Yolo hires through GovernmentJobs from its administration building on Court Street in Woodland.

West Sacramento is the county’s other employment center. CalSTRS has its headquarters on Waterfront Place, the city-owned port ships rice out and cement in, and the city calls itself a food hub. Woodland describes its economy as manufacturing and distribution, with trade and transportation the largest sector.
Sutter Davis Hospital is on Sutter Place and Woodland Memorial Hospital on Cottonwood Street. Cache Creek Casino Resort in Brooks, up Highway 16, hires across the resort and runs a daily shuttle from Woodland. Nugget Market’s corporate office is in Davis. Winters is farm country, and the city says agriculture remains its primary commercial activity.

Woodland Community College is on East Gibson Road. Sacramento City College runs centers in Davis and West Sacramento, and the YoloWorks job centers are in Woodland and West Sacramento.
Getting to the Scottish Rite Center
West Sacramento is a bridge away. From Davis take Interstate 80 east, from Woodland Interstate 5 south, and from Winters Highway 128 to Interstate 505 and I-80. Cross into Sacramento, follow the Capital City Freeway to East Sacramento, and the Scottish Rite Center is at 6151 H Street opposite Sacramento State. Yolobus runs intercity routes from Woodland, Davis and West Sacramento to downtown Sacramento, plus the express routes from Davis. From downtown, SacRT’s Gold Line reaches University/65th Street.
